And so the adventure begins...
This house was a foreclosure with a lot of potential...and a lot of gross. We knew after the home inspection that the gas lines in the attic were cut and removed (most likely scrapped because we later found out they were copper), but everything else came back cosmetic...with a few hidden gems!
Demolition began with cleaning and stripping wallpaper. My best advice, never buy a house with wallpaper. And if you do, hire someone to remove it for you. Trust me.
Our original plan was to start in one room and move through the house room by room until completed. We started in the "Sponge Bob Room"...

When we started removing the wallpaper, we found a small spot that appeared to be old water damage. We decided to cut out a small piece of the drywall to see the extent of the damage...

Luckily, my Dad and Uncle Bob came to lend a hand so we had some help other than YouTube ;) They were life savers. Seriously.
Everything else moved forward with little to no issues, but many, many, MANY layers of paint...

So...we are not done. But we are moved in and functional. We have not had the chance to tackle the exterior, but updates will be added as we move forward. Looking back, it is hard to believe how much we accomplished in such a short time! Again, we could have NEVER pulled it off without all the help!
